Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Austin, TX is seeking a Solid Waste Engineer to contribute to civil and environmental projects focused on solid waste facilities.

You will perform airspace, excavation and fill calculations, prepare technical reports, and assist with landfill design and CQA activities in a team-oriented environment. The role involves field support, client interaction, and coordination with staff across offices to deliver compliant, economical solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed P.E. (Professional Engineer) preferred or required.
• 7–10 years of professional engineering experience.
• Preferred experience with IHW and O&G waste.
• Strong project management skills are essential.
• Experience with waste permitting, construction design, CQA, groundwater monitoring, and operations support.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, HEC-RAS or similar modeling software.
• Ambition to learn and apply new skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform solid waste facility design tasks including airspace, excavation and fill volume calculations.
• Prepare, review and compile technical reports.
• Design stormwater management systems and landfill grading, leachate and gas collection.
• Assist with field work and Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) of landfill cells and caps.
• Collaborate with office and field staff, clients and contractors to deliver projects.
