Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Austin, TX is seeking a Solid Waste Engineer to contribute to civil and environmental projects focused on solid waste facilities.

You will perform airspace, excavation and fill calculations, prepare technical reports, and assist with landfill design and CQA activities in a team-oriented environment. The role involves field support, client interaction, and coordination with staff across offices to deliver compliant, economical solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed P.E. (Professional Engineer) preferred or required.
• 7–10 years of professional engineering experience.
• Preferred experience with IHW and O&G waste.
• Strong project management skills are essential.
• Experience with waste permitting, construction design, CQA, groundwater monitoring, and operations support.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, HEC-RAS or similar modeling software.
• Ambition to learn and apply new skills.

Overview

As a Solid Waste Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC) in our Austin, TX office you'll work on civil and environmental engineering projects primarily associated with solid waste facilities. These projects will involve completing engineering tasks such as airspace, excavation, and fill volume calculations, preparation, review and compilation of technical reports, stormwater management system design, and landfill grading, leachate and landfill gas collection system design. You will also assist with some amount of field work - Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) - landfill cell and cap construction and environmental monitoring of landfill facilities. Interacting with CEC office and field staff, clients and contractors. Your effort will be part of the overall completion of landfill design, construction and certification projects.
