Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants (CEC) in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Project Manager for our Waste Management Practice. You will lead solid waste facility projects from planning through construction, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring regulatory compliance and client satisfaction.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with agencies, and contribute to business development while advancing your career within an employee-owned firm that values integrity and collaboration.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering is required.
• P.E. licensure is required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
• Ability to nurture existing clients and develop business is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage solid waste and site development projects from proposal through construction, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight.
• Lead project teams in planning, permitting, and design of integrated solid waste facilities.
• Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure deliverables meet regulatory and client requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams through all project phases.
• Prepare proposals and support business development to expand client relationships and win new work.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff.
• Collaborate with other CEC practices to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary solutions.

Overview

As a Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Waste Management Practice at the Charlotte, NC office, you'll lead projects focused on the planning, permitting, design, and site development of integrated solid waste facilities. You'll manage multidisciplinary teams supporting local government and private clients across the municipal solid waste, industrial, and energy sectors. You'll oversee project execution from concept through construction, ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction, while collaborating across CEC practices to deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering;
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) Licensure;
• Proficiency in design programs such as AutoCAD Civil 3D; and
• Ability to nurture existing clients and desire to develop business.
