Job summary

EHS Insight is seeking an IT & Information Security Manager to own our cloud-first IT operations in a remote setting. You will administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and security controls, while shaping policy and driving risk reduction without a team.

This hands-on role reports to the CEO and offers unusual latitude to build the function you think is right. You’ll manage backup, incident response, and audits, collaborate with compliance, and ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and AI

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years administering Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (Azure AD) environments, including senior/sole IT ownership.
• Hands-on experience with Intune/Endpoint Manager for device and app management.
• Strong understanding of identity security concepts: Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, least privilege access.
• Experience supporting a fully remote workforce and managing distributed device logistics.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for security and compliance.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills; comfortable being the sole IT resource.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 42001, NIST CSF, or comparable governance frameworks.
• 2+ years in an environment with SOC 2, ISO 27001 audits and evidence production.
• Ownership of backup and recovery for cloud-hosted data; running restore tests.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID end-to-end, including tenant security and external collaboration.
• Manage Entra ID user lifecycles, licensing, and app registrations.
• Oversee Intune for device enrollment and policy configuration; supervise endpoint security.
• Handle backup, recovery, and business continuity testing for cloud data.
• Develop and enforce IT security policies and respond to audits and risk assessments.
• Lead onboarding/offboarding, access governance, and vendor management for SaaS/AI tools.
• Support security controls, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
• Guide strategy and remediation efforts with compliance and audit readiness.
