Job summary

Williams International in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Solder to join our team. The Solder is responsible for the soldering and wire crimping of electrical assemblies for gas turbine engines.

Currently hiring for afternoons (2:00pm – 10:30pm). Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ year of experience in electrical soldering and wire crimping, plus the ability to read and assemble parts from manufacturing planning instructions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in electrical soldering and wire crimping.
  • Ability to assemble circuit boards and wire harnesses.
  • Ability to read and assemble parts from manufacturing planning instructions.
  • Ability to perform detailed work requiring fine motor skills.
  • Must be capable of passing Ishihara Color Blindness (14 plates) and Jaeger Level 1 vision testing.

Responsibilities

  • Solder wires and other electronic components.
  • Follow manufacturing planning for instructions and inspection requirements.
  • Perform wire cutting, stripping, dressing ends and other simple cable operations.
  • Perform assembly operations or inspection under microscope or other magnifying device as required.
  • Package parts per handling requirements, including ESD requirements.
  • Verify dimensions and/or performance using standard measuring instruments and HASS equipment.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Solder to join our team. The Solder is responsible for the soldering and wire crimping of electrical assemblies for gas turbine engines. Currently hiring for afternoons(2:00pm – 10:30pm).

Additionally, the Solder will:

  • Solder wires and other electronic components
  • Follow manufacturing planning for instructions and inspection requirements
  • Perform wire cutting, stripping, dressing ends and other simple cable operations
  • Perform assembly operations or inspection under microscope or other magnifying device as required
  • Package parts her handling requirements, including ESD requirements
  • Verify dimensions and or performance using standard measuring instruments and HASS equipment
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds from floor to height of 25 inches, capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, have a grip strength of at least 50 pounds and be able to reach above shoulder 65 inches above floor level (minimum).
  • Responsible for and accountable for product safety and the quality of work, including, as a minimum, all elements defined in the Company’s Quality Policy
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
