Responsibilities

  • Completes brazing processes and other bonding techniques.
  • Sets up and operates various manufacturing process equipment (heat treat ovens, cleaning, polishing, laser I.D, expander, pressure test, power flush).
  • Removes burrs and tool marks to meet blueprints and tolerances.
  • Performs inspection/test activities to ensure parts meet standards.
  • Uses hand tools, grinders, drills, and other assembly equipment.
  • Maintains accurate part identification and documentation.
  • Maintains clean, organized cellular work area and supports team goals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for an Assembler and Finisher to join our team. This role involves the operation of diverse manufacturing support processes within a specific work cell.

Additionally, the Metal Finisher will:

  • Completes brazing processes and other bonding techniques.
  • Set up and operate various manufacturing process equipment (heat treat ovens, precision cleaning, polishing, laser I.D, Expander machine, pressure test, and power flush).
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirements.
  • Complete inspection and/or test related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications.
  • Uses a variety of hand tools, shears, grinders, drills, saws, tube bending and flaring equipment, Tube threading, and other items to be used in assembly.
  • Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensure that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.
  • Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards.
  • Strive to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School or GED required
  • 1-2 years of experiencemanufacturing small parts completing the following processes:
  • Pressure testing, deburring, polishing, cleaning and identifying parts is required.
  • Applying braze alloy is a plus.
  • Basic lathe and mill operations is a plus.
  • Must be able to read, understand and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings and follow planning instructions.
  • Familiar with GD&T specifications and capable of performing basic inspections based on engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use common measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators etc.
  • Attention to detail, ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and collaborative skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).
  • U.S. Citizenship status required.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
