The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Assembler to join our team. The Assembler is responsible for assembling complex fuel control units for gas turbine engines. This position is for 2nd shift (2:00 pm – 10:30 pm).

Responsibilities

• Fabricate electrical and/or mechanical assemblies
• Follow manufacturing planning for instructions and inspection requirements
• Perform wire cutting, stripping, dressing ends and other simple cable operations
• Solder wires and other electronic components
• Perform assembly operations or inspection under microscope or other magnifying device as required
• Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, arbor pressing
• Assemble bearings, pistons, O‑rings, seals, springs, etc. into machined housings
• Verify dimensions and/or performance using standard measuring instruments
• Responsible for and accountable for product safety and the quality of work, including all elements defined in the Company’s Quality Policy
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience with mechanical and electrical assemblies
• 1 year using precision tools, fixture and measuring equipment
• Must be able to read, understand and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings and follow planning instructions
• Attention to detail, ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time, and work in a team environment
• Ability to perform detailed work requiring fine motor skills
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds from floor to height of 25 inches, capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, have a grip strength of at least 50 pounds and be able to reach above shoulder 65 inches above floor level (minimum)
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
