Job summary

Williams International in Pontiac, Michigan, is seeking an R&O Technician to join our FAA-certified Repair Station. You will work with a team on turbine engine products, performing assembly, disassembly, testing, cleaning of parts, and rework, plus preparation for shipment.

Responsibilities include following process plans and engine manuals, stamping completion to ensure quality, performing visual inspections, maintaining 6S standards, recording time charges accurately, and upholding safety

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • 2 years of heavy mechanic experience or 1 year directly working with Williams International gas turbine engines preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret sketches/drawings and inspection equipment required.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • A&P license is preferred.

The Opportunity

Williams International has an R&O Technician in our FAA‑certified Repair Station. As an R&O Technician, you will work with a team of specialists on our turbine engine products. Responsibilities include assembly, disassembly, test, cleaning of parts, and rework of components, and container and engine preparation for shipment.

Additionally, the R&O Technician will:

  • Assemble, disassemble, clean, and conduct rework of gas turbine engines and related components. Assignments are accomplished by following process plans, general work instructions, and/or engine manuals.
  • Stamp work at completion of the operation to ensure compliance to engine manual and quality requirements.
  • Conduct the visual inspection of hardware and record findings on the applicable forms.
  • Maintain work area in accordance with established 6S standards.
  • Document time charges accurately and honestly.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Physical lifting requirements include: ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and able to reach above the shoulder 65 inches above floor level (minimum).
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
