Job summary

EMS Solutions in Ogden, Utah is seeking a Solder Technician to assemble, solder, and inspect electronic boards using surface mount and through-hole methods. You will help ensure IPC standards and high-quality manufacturing.

The role offers a full-time schedule with a four-day workweek and competitive benefits. The position requires a high school diploma, IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certifications or the ability to obtain them, and prior electronics assembly experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• IPC-A-610 certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
• J-STD-001 certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
• Previous electronics assembly or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Solder surface mount and through-hole components using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Inspect component placement, polarity, and solder joints for quality and IPC compliance.
• Perform first article inspections and determine acceptance or rejection.
• Complete circuit board rework and repairs using solder wick, heat tools, and other equipment.
• Operate automated and manual soldering and inspection equipment.
• Maintain IPC workmanship standards, including Level 2 and/or Level 3 requirements.
• Follow ESD protocols, PPE requirements, and workplace safety procedures.
• Communicate quality or production issues with team members, leads, and engineering.
• Assist with training and mentoring other technicians as assigned.
• Work with production and engineering teams to address defects and improve processes.
