Job summary

AES Corporation is hiring a Solar Technician II to maintain and operate solar PV sites and substations in the Kirksville, Missouri area. This on-site role requires a self-starter who can lead field personnel and ensure operations meet industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have a 2-year technical degree or Journeyman qualifications, 3+ years in PV O&M, and strong safety and teamwork skills. Travel up to 10% may be required for project support.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications preferred.
• 3+ years as a PV O&M solar technician.
• 5+ years in a power plant, with 1+ year in PV Solar O&M or construction.
• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and operations for solar PV sites and substations.
• Handle corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance.
• Work with equipment like SunGrow 4400, SunGrow 3600, SoltecTrackers high/medium/low voltage switching.
• Prepare and implement switching and clearance orders.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
• Work independently or in teams.
