Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Solar Technician II to support O&M activities for utility-scale solar PV sites and substations in Nebraska, including the Platteview project near Ashland. The role requires hands-on maintenance, safe switching, and collaboration with field personnel.

The ideal candidate will have PV O&M experience, a technical degree or journeyman qualifications, and the ability to work at heights and in varying conditions while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications.
• Three or more years' experience as a PV O&M solar technician.
• Five or more years' experience in a power plant with one or more years in PV Solar O&M or construction.
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical fundamentals and control devices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee O&M activities for solar PV sites and substations at utility-scale plants.
• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance per safety and operating standards.
• Prepare and implement switching and clearance orders.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
• Work independently and in crews as needed.
