Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a 2-year technical degree or Journeyman qualifications, 3+ years in PV O&M, and strong safety and teamwork skills. Travel up to 10% may be required for project support.

Qualifications

This role is an on‑site position based in the Kirksville area of Missouri. Candidates must live in the area or be willing to relocate before the start date. The AES Operations team is looking for a Solar Technician II. This position will cover assigned O&M activities associated with the solar PV sites and substations associated with the utility‑scale Solar Energy Plants (Morris Solarworks project) located in Missouri. This individual would play a pivotal role in ensuring that AES CE operates the portfolio to standards that exceed industry best‑practice. The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter, and have the ability to build, train and lead other field personnel. Education and Experience

• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to commute daily to the site (US Hwy 63 and County Road 361 C, Kirksville, Missouri 63501).
• Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, climbing, and using protective equipment.
• May work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
• Occasional lifting and working overtime or non‑standard hours.
• Traveling up to 10% will be required, mainly to support operations in our Hardy Hills project in Indiana.
