Job Title: Solar Technician II

Job Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Solar Technician II is responsible for performing corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations for solar PV systems and associated equipment. The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable solar PV operation.
What You Will Be Doing
- Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations safely and efficiently, within your qualification scope.
- Handle technical and administrative tasks related to operating and maintaining a power facility.
- Ensure all work complies with Environmental and Safety standards.
- Participate in required training, including On-the-Job Training, Self-Study, Computer-Based Training, and Classroom Training.
- Work independently and/or in teams to complete tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Travel as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of experience in a power plant or PV Solar O&M/EPC experience.
- 2+ years of field experience with I&E, I&C, and/or C&I Electrician skills may substitute for solar experience.
- Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals, control circuits, and solid-state theory.
- Basic understanding of operational characteristics of power equipment and control devices.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.
- Understanding of safety standards and ability to contribute to safety improvements.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to work overtime and non-standard hours, including nights.
- Strong communication skills and professionalism.
- Proficiency with standard business software and computer operation.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-year technical degree or Journeyman certification preferred.
- Demonstrable mechanical aptitude and electrical knowledge.
- Commitment to safety standards and continuous safety improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
- Ability to operate standard business software.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- Capability to work independently and multitask effectively.
