Job summary

Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) seeks a Site Technician at our Hartford City, Indiana facility to perform routine maintenance on solar assets, manage CMMS work orders, and ensure safety protocols. The role involves teamwork with site leads to maintain operating solar, wind, and energy storage systems.

The position requires basic electrical/mechanical knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols and company procedures.
• Ability to accurately document work activities and follow instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks on solar panels, inverters, racking, and tracking systems under supervision.
• Work Order Management: Accurately record all maintenance activities in the CMMS, including work order creation, updates, and closure.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices.
• Reporting: Assist in preparing reports on maintenance activities, including documenting issues and solutions.
• Learning & Development: Engage in on-the-job training to develop technical skills and knowledge in solar plant operations.
• Equipment Handling: Assist in handling and organizing tools, equipment, and materials for maintenance tasks.
• Team Collaboration: Work with higher-level technicians and Site Lead and follow instructions for safe execution.
• Physical Work: Lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs; work in various weather conditions.
