Job summary

Cherry Street Energy, a growing solar energy company based in Atlanta, seeks an O&M Technician to support the Operations & Maintenance team in maintaining PV systems and electrical equipment. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance to prevent costly issues and maximize generation, reporting to the Manager of O&M.

The position requires technical troubleshooting experience, familiarity with PV monitoring platforms, NEC/NFPA knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience performing technical troubleshooting, system commissioning, and/or PV operations & maintenance in a field-based environment.
• Experience using and maintaining electrical and mechanical testing equipment (torque tools, multimeters, insulation resistance testers, I-V tracers, thermal cameras, ohmmeters, earth ground testers).
• Familiarity with monitoring platforms (Wattch/AlsoEnergy/Locus, EGauge, SMA SunnyPortal, SolarEdge, Enphase) during commissioning, troubleshooting, and plant monitoring.
• Familiarity with NEC 2014-2023 and NFPA 70B 2023 applications to PV systems.
• NABCEP Certification preferred; OSHA-10 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize O&M activities to maintain a minimum uptime of 95%.
• Identify, record and correct issues with precision and detail.
• Record work activities using required applications and systems.
• Contribute to ongoing development and improvement of Cherry Street Energy O&M systems.
• Create scalable systems and procedures in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
• Communicate across business units to ensure daily operational excellence and collaboration.
• Travel primarily within Georgia; some travel outside may be required in the future.
