Job summary

Ferrovial Energy is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to oversee permitting, regulatory compliance, project controls, and delivery for a solar project in Austin, TX. The role reports to the Project Manager with weekly travel to site and relocation support for candidates outside the Austin area.

As part of the Owner’s Representative team, you will lead permitting strategy, manage relationships with government agencies, support construction oversight, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in renewable energy, engineering, construction, or project management.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to renewable energy development.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing project activities from development through construction and close-out.
  • Drive project execution by tracking schedules, milestones, and key deliverables.
  • Coordinate meetings, site visits, and coordination among contractors, consultants, and Owner's Engineer teams.
  • Manage project documentation including permitting, QA/QC, and construction records.
  • Monitor permitting, environmental, interconnection milestones, and compliance throughout the lifecycle.
  • Support budget monitoring, change orders, and cost control activities.
  • Support reporting and management reporting to ensure delivery of project objectives.
  • Manage permitting and regulatory requirements and maintain relationships with authorities at local, state, and federal levels.
