Job summary

Invenergy LLC in Chicago, IL is hiring a Project Engineer (Renewable Engineering) to support development and technical design for utility-scale solar projects. The role is based in downtown Chicago with a hybrid schedule (office Mon-Thu, remote on Fridays when feasible).

You will work with multiple internal teams to advance project concepts, perform energy production analyses, and support permitting and financing efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of engineering experience or related technical discipline.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Define project constraints and buildable area considering infrastructure, topography, hydrology, and subsurface conditions.
• Prepare conceptual project layouts and optimize to maximize project value.
• Analyze meteorological datasets and assess long-term resource characteristics.
• Estimate annual energy production, energy uncertainty, and production profiles.
• Conduct site visits, engage with landowners and communities, participate in construction meetings.
