Job summary

Invenergy LLC in Chicago, IL seeks a Solar Applications Project Engineer to evaluate and implement owner furnished equipment across solar development and construction pipelines. Travel up to 25% and a hybrid schedule (in-office Mon-Thu, remote Fri if permissible) are required.

Reports to the Applications Engineering Manager. The role requires a relevant engineering bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in renewables, with strong knowledge of PV modules, inverters, and racking/tracking tech.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in renewable energy industry
• Understanding of PV plant design and manufacturing processes
• Domestic travel required and driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Act as SME on module, inverter, and racking/tracker technology for Invenergy projects.
• Facilitate implementation of owner furnished equipment on solar projects.
• Advise on technology assumptions for development projects.
• Review off-take requirements and specifications for major equipment.
• Support contracting for equipment supply, EPC, and off-take with technical exhibits.
• Coordinate with supplier technical teams to ensure suitable technology.
• Translate supplier specs into site designs and performance modeling.
• Assist on-site equipment installation and commissioning through construction.
• Troubleshoot owner furnished equipment if issues arise.
• Collaborate with construction teams to feed lessons learned into specs and sourcing.
