Job summary

Moss in Maui, HI is seeking a Solar Project Engineer to work with the Project Manager and project team to drive and coordinate the planning and daily execution of utility-scale solar projects. You will track submittals, manage documentation, coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, assist in startup and commissioning, and help maintain schedules, budgets, and safety standards.

This role offers exposure to a broad range of solar development activities, collaborative teamwork, and opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related discipline.
  • 6 months to 1-year internship experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in the construction industry.
  • Strong computer skills with construction project management applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interfacing with owners' representatives, A/E team and others.
  • Basic finance skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in pre-construction activities and helps develop QC plans, bid packages and schedules.
  • Coordinates project startup including mobilization, subcontractor/vendor selection and milestones.
  • Expedites materials, tracks submittals, and manages fabrication/delivery schedules.
  • Coordinates construction activities, quality inspections, safety procedures and meetings.
  • Manages change orders, budgets, and project closeout tasks.
  • Participates in professional development and company initiatives.
