Job summary

Geronimo Power, LLC seeks a Technician to oversee on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at utility-scale solar plants. The role reports to the Plant Manager and collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and third-party providers.

Responsibilities include EHS program compliance, HV equipment maintenance, troubleshooting from schematics, and preventive maintenance per manuals. Occasional travel and rotating on-call shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience or power industry training.
• Experience in solar facility operations and maintenance including a broad range of renewable or other power generation.
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical control systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure strict management and compliance of all environmental, health and safety programs.
• Operate and maintain equipment including HV equipment, inverters, transformers, control panels, tracker systems.
• Provide quality assessments and QC of work by third-party contractors.
• Troubleshoot using schematics to diagnose mechanical and electrical control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to manuals.
• Set up sites with proper tooling, inventory and spare parts.
• Assist with warranties—submit and track claims and reconcile loans.
• Assist with capital improvement programs and retrofits.
• Assist with vegetation management as needed by Plant Manager.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule; may require nights, weekends or holidays.
• Occasional travel to maintain fleet sites.
