Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee the safe, productive, day-to-day operations of a utility-scale solar PV plant in the field. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs to maximize production, while advancing a safe, reliable energy future.

The role is field-based and not tied to the main office. Travel to multiple sites across the United States may be required; candidates from various locations may be considered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, substation operations, network communications and monitoring or equivalent power plant operations
• Experience with operation of SCADA, DAS and UPS systems
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices
• Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
• Proficiency with MS Office suite
• NABCEP Certified Installation Professional
• OSHA 10 General Industry certificate
• Must be able to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything that you do
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities
• Strong understanding of NEC code, electrical theory, industry best practices
• DC and AC testing included but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracing
• Maintain a schedule for routine maintenance, service, trouble shooting and repair of equipment at solar photovoltaic facilities including but not limited to: Single Axis trackers, Central or String Inverters, Transformers, AC and DC disconnects, Substation equipment
• Maintaining company property such as vehicle, tools, meters and plant stock
• Maintaining service reports, inspection documentation, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory
• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians and others as needed
• Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards
