Job summary

Electrical Technician position based in Richmond, VA, focused on preventative and corrective maintenance for a utility-scale solar plant. You will troubleshoot electrical issues, perform repairs, and support daily O&M operations, while maintaining thorough documentation.

Requirements include 2+ years as a maintenance electrician, NEC safety knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. NABCEP or electrical license preferred; travel to support multiple sites may be needed.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a maintenance electrician.
Based in Richmond, VA or willing to relocate.
Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
Proficiency with hand and power tools and digital work order systems.
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies.
NABCEP certification or Electrical License (Journeyman/Master) preferred.

Responsibilities

Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV electrical equipment including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and collection systems.
Perform current and voltage readings, electrical diagnostics, and component-level repairs.
Conduct maintenance on trackers, inverters, and balance-of-plant electrical systems.
Support substation and switchyard maintenance activities as required.
Use monitoring tools to track energy output and respond to alarms and emergencies.
Execute daily work plans based on prioritized tasks from planning and scheduling.
Monitor contractor activities and ensure work quality and safety compliance.
Record all maintenance activities in the digital maintenance management system.
