Job summary

ZEO Energy Corp. in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a skilled MPU Electrician to support residential solar installations. This hands-on role upgrades electrical systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship on projects in the Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach area.

Experienced electricians with 5+ years in residential work and solar/PV knowledge can thrive here. This position offers performance-based pay with top earners well above typical hourly rates, plus opportunity

Qualifications

5+ years of residential electrical experience, including service upgrades.
Proven knowledge of NEC codes, especially related to solar, battery storage, and service panels.
Familiarity with logic controllers and their applications.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and specialty electrical equipment.
Valid state electrician license/journeyman preferred, but not required.
Residential solar experience strongly preferred with knowledge of PV equipment and safety equipment.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to follow and adhere to safety requirements.
Clean driving record and ability to drive company vehicle.

Responsibilities

Perform Main Panel Upgrades (MPUs) or other residential service changes on homes to support solar energy systems.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential settings.
Perform electrical wiring, conduit layout, and grounding systems following building and electrical standards and codes.
Read and interpret technical drawings such as blue prints or line diagrams to determine electrical layouts.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
Collaborate with construction teams on-site to ensure electrical systems meet project requirements and are completed in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
Accurately complete project documentation, including photos, labels, and communicate effectively with crew members, the crew lead and field leadership, and the customer.
