Job summary

RES is seeking a Field Support Technician – Solar to perform essential support tasks at utility-scale solar facilities. You will help with vegetation management, general maintenance, inventory, and custodial duties, while assisting with troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Flexibility to cover various plant maintenance tasks is required. Daily work includes using CMMS software, following safety procedures, and completing required paperwork.

Qualifications

• High school/GED General Education required.
• 1 year experience in a related maintenance position required.
• Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
• Uses electrical tools, hand tools and machinery, safely and efficiently.
• Learns and uses SCADA and other software control systems.
• Works in remote field conditions under all weather conditions with limited supervision.
• Assists with site safety meetings and site inductions.
• Participates with JSA, method statements.
• Participates and assists with Log-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO) if needed.
• Interfaces with co-workers and customers/ownership in a professional manner.
• Follows company NERC compliance programs as required.

Responsibilities

• Supports operating and maintaining utility-scale solar facilities.
• Assists PV Technicians with troubleshooting and repair of electrical and/or mechanical equipment.
• Performs vegetation management, inspections, and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Operates CMMS and maintains maintenance tracking records.
• Completes daily paperwork and attends required meetings.
• Maintains site safety, housekeeping, and inventory of tools and parts.
• Travel 5-15% to different sites as required.
