Job summary

Standard Solar is seeking a Field Operations Technician to support maintenance and repair of our solar asset fleet across the United States. The role blends hands-on electrical work with in‑office prep and meetings to drive asset performance.

You will perform testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and quality inspections while adhering to NEC and OSHA standards. Expect travel and on-call support as required to maintain system uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 4+ years hands-on electrical experience as an Apprentice Electrician with eligibility for Journeyman exam.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with the National Electric Code (NEC).
• Journeyman or Master Electrician certification preferred.
• Experience with MODBUS control schemes and data acquisition systems preferred.
• OSHA training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test, diagnose, and troubleshoot existing PV systems in the field and remotely.
• Review commissioning documents and support the construction team with commissioning of new assets.
• Conduct maintenance inspections and prepare reports on findings.
• Coordinate and support the operations team for rapid resolution of outages using data monitoring systems.
• Prepare quotes for corrective maintenance and field work.
• Participate in both formal and field training programs and follow safety policies.
• Maintain professional relations with clients and subcontractors.
