Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Solar Farm Technician II to install, operate, maintain, and repair solar systems for optimal performance. You will diagnose issues, interpret SCADA data, and implement fixes while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will lead maintenance tasks, mentor junior technicians, and coordinate with engineers, Site Leads, and managers to minimize downtime and improve reliability. This is a full-time, on-site role based on the West Side Ohio area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or certification in renewable energy technology or electrical systems preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant technical experience in renewable energy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads and performs solar operations and maintenance safely by applying site procedures, job hazard analyses, and lockout/tagout practices.
• Identifies and reports hazards and near misses while coaching team members on safe work practices.
• Ensures compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements by interpreting regulations and correcting non-compliant conditions.
• Independently maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs solar PV systems to ensure reliability and availability.
• Analyzes SCADA data, alarms, and measurements to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinates with Site Leads, Site Managers, and Engineers to resolve high-risk or system-level issues.
• Plans and executes preventive and corrective maintenance by prioritizing work orders and sequencing tasks.
• Leads inspections, testing, and commissioning to verify performance and design conformance.
• Maintains technical documentation and records (SAP Work Orders, inspection findings).
• Mentors Associate and Trainee technicians with hands-on instruction and safety coaching.
• Serves on-call with rapid response and readiness to report within 2 hours.
