Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to join our field maintenance team on a full-time basis at a jobsite in Tulia, TX. The role is initially contingent with potential to transition to a permanent position after orientation and training.

The technician will learn and perform safe maintenance, testing and minor repairs on solar equipment across multiple plants, under supervision and with a focus on safety, documentation, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; vocational/technical training is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• Basic understanding of a solar installation/plant.
• Familiarity with testing equipment.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.
• Ability to travel up to 10% for training and site coverage.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the most important function; follow safe practices at all times.
• Work safely under all circumstances and seek guidance when tasks are unfamiliar.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment in multiple solar plants under supervision.
• Perform basic solar equipment testing, troubleshooting and maintenance under supervision.
• Replace or repair solar parts and/or equipment under supervision.
• Respond on-call as directed by supervisor for emergency repairs.
• Prepare accurate documentation and required reports of work performed.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
• Assess and suggest improved processes, and coordinate with EPC management regarding improvements.
