Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) for full-time, on-site work at a Tulia, TX jobsite. The role begins as a contingent position with potential to convert to permanent status and involves field maintenance with a focus on safety and basic testing.

Responsibilities include servicing solar equipment, learning safe work practices, and documenting activities. Travel up to 10% may be required, and candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training a plus.
• Ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment and follow safe practices.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to identify and perform Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
• Basic understanding of a solar installation/plant.
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment.
• Basic computer operation skills and ability to follow written instructions.
• NFPA 70e Safety Training certification required.
• Stay current in safety and technical trainings.
• Excellent English communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as the top function; ensure safe practices for all employees.
• Work safely under all circumstances and seek guidance for unfamiliar tasks.
• Operate and care for company equipment and tools.
• Service solar equipment across multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance with monitoring programs.
• Replace or repair solar parts under supervision.
• Respond on-call for emergency equipment repairs as directed.
• Prepare accurate job reports and documentation.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned by supervision.
• Suggest process improvements and coordinate with management on new technologies.
