Job summary

SOLV Energy in Coyanosa, TX is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to perform field maintenance and learn safe practices in the solar industry. This is a full-time, on-site role with potential to transition to a permanent position after training.

You will perform basic solar equipment testing, troubleshooting and maintenance under supervision, replace parts as needed, and document work performed while following safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical training is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment through training or experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to identify and perform lockout/tagout of energized parts.
• Basic understanding of a solar installation/plant and testing equipment.
• Basic computer operation skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Obtain NFPA 70e Safety Training certification and stay current.
• Effective verbal and written English communication and organization.
• Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Stresses safety as the top priority and ensures safe practices are followed.
• Work safely under all conditions; seek guidance for unfamiliar tasks.
• Operate and care for company equipment, tooling, and vehicles.
• Service solar equipment at multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance under supervision.
• Replace or repair solar parts under supervision.
• Respond to on-call requests for emergency repairs.
• Prepare accurate documentation and reports of work performed.
• Collaborate on process improvements and new technologies with EPC management.
• Uphold SOLV Energy diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
