Job summary

Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on utility-scale solar PV systems from our base in Kinston, NC. The role requires hands-on field work, travel to project sites, and adherence to safety standards while maintaining equipment and reporting on service activities.

The ideal candidate will have NABCEP certification, 3–4+ years in PV maintenance, and experience with SCADA/DAS/UPS, testing tools, and electrical diagrams.

Qualifications

• NABCEP Certified Installation Professional
• 3-4+ years of PV maintenance experience
• Experience with SCADA, DAS and UPS systems
• Skilled with testing equipment and tools such as thermographic inspection, IV curve tracing, megger tests, ground fault detection
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site routine maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar PV facilities
• Perform DC and AC testing, including polarity checks, open-circuit voltage, grounding, insulation resistance, I-V tracing
• Maintain vehicle, tools, meters and stock
• Create service reports and manage spare parts inventory
• Identify and mitigate safety hazards during maintenance
• Produce operability and downtime reports and respond to on-call emergencies
