Solar Field Service Technician – Inverter Commissioning

Job summary

RiseMe is seeking a field service professional to provide Technical Advisory Services (TAS) for commissioning and warranty support of solar PV inverters and related electrical systems in Houston, TX. You will gather project requirements, follow commissioning procedures, troubleshoot issues, and update as-installed documentation.

You will also train clients and field personnel, participate in Final Acceptance Tests and factory witness tests, and coordinate with vendors to resolve testing issues

Qualifications

• 1 year experience commissioning and servicing power distribution, power electronic and rotating machine products
• Demonstrated presentation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, software programming language, and simulation tool
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 75%
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying temperatures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Commission solar PV inverters per project requirements
• Gather information from sources to assess project requirements
• Comply with commissioning procedures and checklists
• Troubleshoot and document issues during commissioning or warranty support
• Update drawings to as-installed status
• Lead client Final Acceptance Test components when assigned
• Attend factory witness tests to verify equipment meets specs
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues observed in testing
• Train clients on system maintenance and operation
• Train field staff on processes and product solutions
• Identify site opportunities and advise management
• Provide regular commissioning status and testing reports
• Maintain safety qualifications and adhere to safety requirements
• Manage site schedule and coordinate personnel
• Ensure safety equipment is available and functional
