Job summary

Otovo SRL is seeking a Field Service Technician to service and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators. The role emphasizes hands-on electrical work, problem solving, and delivering excellent customer service on customer sites across the St.

Louis area. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of electrical experience, holds a journeyman or equivalent license, and is comfortable working outdoors and traveling locally.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• State-required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring NEC/AHJ/utility compliance.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
