Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar systems, battery storage, and generators. This hands-on role focuses on delivering reliable energy solutions with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of electrical experience, a valid driver's license, and familiarity with NEC/AHJ requirements.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
At least 4+ years of electrical experience.
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of NEC/AHJ and utility interconnection requirements.
Proven customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators and related equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring NEC, AHJ, and utility compliance.
Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
Follow safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
