Job summary

SMA America is seeking a Field Service Engineer for the Central region, based around Corpus Christi, TX. The role focuses on commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing SMA utility inverters in the field, including warranty work and on-site service.

The position requires 3+ years in electrical/electronic or network communications, a technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent renewables experience, and ability to travel. Flexibility with nonstandard hours and field assignments is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assists with commissioning, troubleshoots, repairs, and analyzes SMA America's utility inverters in the field, by email, telephone, and site visits.
• Works with high voltage DC electricity, three phase power, and inverter software/firmware.
• Maintains maintenance activities per SMA product manual on assigned sites.
• Develops knowledge of SMA's utility inverter products and accessories, including third-party items.
• Maintains accurate spare parts inventory.
• Maintains high customer satisfaction while lowering field service costs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
