Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a skilled Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator for our solar farm construction projects. This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery for site preparation, trenching, pile driving, and other civil and mechanical tasks, without the need for commercial driving.

The operator will perform inspections, maintain equipment, and follow safety protocols while reading simple plans and collaborating with supervisors and engineers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating heavy civil/mechanical construction equipment.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints/schematics is a plus.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, forklifts, telehandlers, pile drivers safely and efficiently.
• Perform site preparation (clearing, grading, trenching) for utilities and foundations.
• Assist with installation/assembly of mechanical components for solar arrays.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance.
• Adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
• Communicate with supervisors, engineers, and team members.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major malfunctions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties to support project completion.
