Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy in the United States seeks a Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator (Non-Driver) to operate heavy equipment on solar and wind site construction projects. You will support civil and mechanical tasks, perform pre-op checks, and help with material handling and installation.

You must work outdoors in varying conditions, adhere to safety protocols, read basic plans, and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy civil and/or mechanical construction equipment.
• Proven ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
• Willingness to travel and work on projects in various locations as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Relevant equipment operator certifications are a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, and other machinery.
• Perform site preparation tasks such as grading, leveling, trenching, and earthmoving.
• Assist with unloading, movement, and placement of materials and components for solar arrays and wind foundations.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with ground crews, supervisors, and other operators to meet timelines and quality standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• May perform manual labor tasks when not operating equipment.
