Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator (Non-Driver) to operate heavy civil and mechanical equipment at renewable energy construction sites. This on-site role excludes driving company vehicles and emphasizes safety, maintenance, and coordination with the project team.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, performing checks, adhering to OSHA regulations, and assisting with assembly of mechanical components for renewable energy systems.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy civil and mechanical equipment in construction or industrial settings.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with renewable energy construction projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and project plans.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Relevant equipment operating certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy civil and mechanical equipment as directed by supervisors.
• Perform daily pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and OSHA regulations on site.
• Excavate, grade, trench, and move materials according to project plans.
• Assist with assembly, positioning, and installation of mechanical components for renewable energy systems.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure workflow.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervision.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and proper storage of tools.
