Job summary

Strata Clean Energy in Durham, NC is seeking a Civil Engineer responsible for analysis, development and permitting of ground mount utility-scale solar farms. The role involves site constraint analysis, layout development with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and permitting work with AHJ.

You will lead Civil Designers and Engineers, coordinate with consultants and regulators, and prepare revisions to respond to AHJ comments.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or in progress within 1 year.
• Minimum four (4) years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with PV project design (desired).
• Comfortable presenting to consultants, authorities with jurisdiction, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate site constraint analysis, including zoning, topography, environmental, soils.
• Direct and/or develop array layouts with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare soil erosion & sediment control and stormwater plans, details and calculations for permit submittal to AHJ.
• Direct Civil Designers and Engineers to prepare and revise site/civil plans and calculations.
• Prepare revisions and responses to AHJ comments.
