Job summary

SunVest Solar, LLC, a Chicago-based renewable energy company, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil/site design, ensure compliance, and support feasibility for its nationwide solar portfolio.

You will report to the VP of Engineering and coordinate with Development and Operations, overseeing earthwork, drainage, permitting, and EOR deliveries. This role offers growth in a fast-growing company and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Illinois P.E. license required, or reciprocity path.
• 4+ years civil engineering experience; 2+ years in solar sector.
• Strong collaboration and time management skills.
• Commitment to renewable energy and proactive process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil site design from project initiation to IFC, including earthwork, grading, erosion control, and stormwater.
• Oversee structural and racking design for rooftop and ground-mount projects with external partners.
• Prepare and stamp civil drawings for permitting; work with AHJs for approvals.
• Coordinate with EOR to ensure timely IFP/IFC deliverables.
• Collaborate with Development and VP of Engineering on all civil/structural design aspects.
