Job summary

Strata Clean Energy in Durham, NC, is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to design and specify electrical systems for utility-scale solar PV plants. The role includes preparing technical drawings, studies, and ensuring compliance with AHJ codes and owner specifications.

You will lead electrical layouts with AutoCAD, perform ETAP studies, supervise designers, and support construction during execution. A BS in EE, PE license, 8+ years of experience, and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present to consultants, authorities with jurisdiction, and customers.
• ABET-accredited BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Experience with design of solar PV projects (desired).

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate electrical system requirements for utility-scale solar PV power plants.
• Direct and/or develop electrical layouts using AutoCAD.
• Develop electrical studies and calculations using ETAP.
• Direct Electrical Designers and Engineers to prepare and revise electrical drawings and calculations.
• Participate in Page Turn reviews with construction and project management teams.
• Provide construction support during the project execution phase.
