Job summary

North American Renewables (NAR) is seeking a Solar Estimator to join our growing team. You will review drawings, specifications, proposals, and project documents to understand scope and key requirements, then prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, time, and overall project costs.

You will perform quantity take-offs, apply unit pricing, and manage quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. You will develop competitive pricing using market knowledge, participate in design reviews and site

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in solar, electrical, or civil construction.
• Ability to read civil and electrical drawings.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• High school diploma required.
• OSHA 10 certification required.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, proposals to understand scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, time, and costs.
• Perform quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing.
• Prepare RFQ/RFP responses and manage quotes from subs and suppliers.
• Develop competitive pricing using market knowledge and past costs.
• Create scopes of work with qualifications, assumptions, exclusions.
• Build relationships with customers, designers, subs and suppliers.
• Support bid reviews, site visits, and design reviews.
• Develop project handoff packages for construction teams.
• Generate RFIs during bidding.
• Help ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project requirements.
