Job summary

Rethink Electric is seeking a Project Engineer – Solar EPC to support engineering and construction of commercial and industrial solar projects. This is a construction-side engineering role working with third-party firms, PMs, CM, foremen, and field teams to ensure code-compliant, constructible designs ready for construction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in commercial/industrial solar, electrical construction, EPC, construction engineering, or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Review third-party electrical, structural, civil, architectural, and PV drawings for completeness, coordination, and constructability.
• Participate in design reviews, page turns, and coordination with third-party engineers and project teams.
• Review IFC/IFP drawings, identify discrepancies, and propose constructive revisions.
• Redline drawings and document corrections for review by the engineer.
• Track drawing status and ensure field teams use current approved documents.
• Support RFIs and submittals related to design conflicts and field conditions.
• Perform material takeoffs for quantities including conduits, wiring, and equipment.
• Coordinate with procurement on quantities and technical specs.
• Review equipment submittals and shop drawings for alignment with docs.
• Visit sites to verify conditions, document as-builts, and support closeout.
• Assist value-engineering to maintain design intent, safety, and schedule.
