Job summary

Kimmel & Associates is seeking a Project Engineer – Solar + Energy Storage to support the development and execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects from early-stage development through construction and commercial operations.

This role suits an Electrical Engineer with experience in large utility-scale solar or solar+storage, collaborating with development, engineering, procurement, construction, utilities, and leadership to ensure technically sound project execution and optimized

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with directly applicable renewable energy experience.
• 4–12 years of engineering experience in utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, or renewable energy infrastructure.
• Experience across greenfield development through commissioning and operations.
• Knowledge of utility-scale PV systems and battery energy storage technologies.
• Experience leading technical due diligence and EPC oversight for renewable energy projects.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support through the full project lifecycle from development to commercial operation.
• Lead technical due diligence efforts for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects.
• Develop engineering specifications, one-line diagrams, technical exhibits, and EPC documentation.
• Coordinate engineering activities during project execution and resolve design issues.
• Evaluate engineering options to improve performance, constructability, and economics.
• Assist with EPC contractor selection and procurement; coordinate equipment integration.
