Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems. The role involves assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining wiring and fixtures, with a focus on safety and code compliance.

The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, related experience, and technical training. This on-site position offers opportunities for growth and teamwork across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years related electrical experience preferred.
• Trade or technical school certification or diploma demonstrated.
• Apprentice aptitude testing may be required.
• Union specific training as applicable.
• Project-specific Mortenson training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers and transformers.
• Test systems with ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes for safety and compatibility.
• Repair and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lights and circuits.
• Study plans and work orders to plan repairs or installations.
• Maintain safe work environment per codes and procedures.
• Read prints and lay out work and installations.
• Complete preventive maintenance and routine tests.
• Contribute to team goals and adapt to deadlines.
