Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Licensed Electrical Journeyman to deliver skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems. You will interpret plans, assemble and install wiring, test circuits, and maintain electrical equipment to meet codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities include reading specifications, coordinating with teammates, and performing preventive maintenance while keeping a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of related experience.
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred.
• Apprentice aptitude test required.
• Union specific training beneficial.
• Project-specific Mortenson training desirable.
• Current driver’s license required.
• Ability to read plans and read English.
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. extends with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and fixtures.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Test electrical systems for safety and compatibility using meters and scopes.
• Repair and maintain motors, transformers, and generators.
• Study plans and work orders to determine requirements and sequence of work.
• Maintain safe work environment and comply with codes.
• Read prints, layout work, and install new service.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and system tests.
• Order and keep supplies ready for the team.
