Job summary

Resonant Energy in Boston is seeking a Solar Design Manager to lead electrical design for rooftop, ground-mount, and canopy solar projects serving nonprofits and affordable housing developers. You will own the design process from site surveys to construction drawings, using AutoCAD, Scanifly and Aurora to deliver compliant layouts, SLDs, and specs in coordination with engineers and architects.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years on MV electrical design, NEC/building/fire code knowledge, and a NABCEP

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable industry experience.
2+ years of medium voltage electrical design and engineering experience.
Working knowledge of NEC, building code, and fire code; ability to apply to solar PV or battery storage systems.
Preferred NABCEP certificate and familiarity with new construction solar integration.
Drone pilot’s license and operational experience with flying drones.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end solar design for projects from site surveys through construction drawings.
Use AutoCAD, Scanifly, and Aurora to develop PV layouts, SLDs, and system specs.
Coordinate with third-party engineers and AHJs; support utility interconnection.
Work with architects and building engineers to integrate solar in new construction.
Provide technical support during installation and maintain design records.
Ensure designs comply with NEC, building code, and fire code.
