Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial and municipal solar projects from contract through completion in Milford, CT.

You will manage schedules, budgets, procurement, utility coordination, and client communication across multiple sites with utilities, municipalities, engineers, and subs contractors. The role requires 4+ years in commercial electrical or renewable energy project management, strong budgeting, and leadership skills; NEC

Qualifications

• 4+ years of project management experience in commercial construction, electrical construction, or utility-scale solar.
• Strong budgeting and cost control experience.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial and municipal solar projects (rooftop, ground mount, carport, and portfolio-based) across Connecticut.
• Lead project kickoff meetings and establish clear execution plans.
• Develop and maintain project schedules (critical path, long lead items, utility coordination timelines).
• Manage procurement of major equipment including modules, inverters, switchgear, transformers, and BOM materials.
• Coordinate with utilities for interconnection, witness testing, and approvals.
• Track project budgets and monitor costs to ensure margin targets are maintained.
• Review and manage subcontracts and vendor agreements.
• Submit and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering and field teams to ensure design intent is executed correctly.
• Oversee permitting and inspection processes.
• Manage project billing milestones and support O&M transition at project completion.
• Maintain organized project documentation and reporting.
• Identify and mitigate risks early in the project lifecycle.
