Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee large-scale commercial and municipal solar projects in Connecticut. The role involves managing schedules, budgets, subs, procurement, utility coordination, inspections, and client communications in a fast-paced construction environment with multiple stakeholders.

The position requires 4+ years of PM experience in electrical construction or renewables, NEC knowledge, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of project management experience in commercial construction, electrical construction, or utility-scale solar.
• Strong understanding of NEC and electrical construction practices.
• Experience with projects exceeding 500 kW and public bid work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple commercial and municipal solar projects across CT.
• Lead project kickoff meetings and establish execution plans.
• Develop and maintain project schedules with critical path and timelines.
• Manage procurement of major equipment including modules, inverters, switchgear, transformers, and balance of system materials.
• Coordinate with utilities for interconnection, witness testing, and approvals.
• Track budgets and monitor costs to maintain margins.
• Review and manage subcontracts and vendor agreements.
• Submit and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering and field teams to ensure design intent is executed.
• Oversee permitting and inspection processes.
• Manage project billing milestones and support O&M transition.
• Maintain organized project documentation and reporting.
• Identify and mitigate risks early in the lifecycle.
