Job summary

Our client, a well-established mid-sized electrical contractor based in Milford, CT, is expanding its commercial solar division and seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee large-scale solar projects from contract through completion.

You will manage schedule, budget, procurement, utility coordination, inspections, and client communication while coordinating with utilities, municipalities, engineers, and subcontractors in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of project management experience in commercial construction, electrical construction, or utility-scale solar.
• Strong understanding of NEC and electrical construction practices.
• Experience managing projects exceeding 500 kW preferred.
• Experience with municipal contracts and public bid work preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics.
• Strong budgeting and cost control experience.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial and municipal solar projects across CT.
• Lead project kickoff meetings and establish execution plans.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and utility timelines.
• Manage procurement of major equipment.
• Coordinate with utilities for interconnection and testing.
• Track budgets and monitor costs to maintain margins.
• Review subcontracts and vendor agreements.
• Submit RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contracts.
• Coordinate with engineering and field teams to ensure design intent.
• Oversee permitting and inspections.
• Manage project billing milestones and O&M transition.
• Maintain organized project documentation and reporting.
• Identify and mitigate risks early.
