Job description

North American Renewables, Inc. is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Solar Construction Mechanical Foreman to join our growing team. The Solar Construction Mechanical Foreman oversees field operations on utility-scale solar construction projects. This leadership role is responsible for managing onsite construction activities, coordinating crews and subcontractors, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and successfully.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Management
  • Manage, direct, and coordinate all onsite construction activities involving NAR employees, temporary labor, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress, productivity, and quality to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Ensure proper use, security, and maintenance of company equipment and resources.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Train, mentor, motivate, and manage field personnel to promote professional growth and high morale.
  • Conduct informal performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive work environment that reflects NAR's core values and culture.
  • Oversee employee and temporary worker daily timekeeping processes.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on every project site.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews, and stretch-and-flex meetings.
  • Ensure all required work preparation procedures, permits, and documentation are completed before work begins.
  • Enforce compliance with company safety standards and industry regulations.
Quality Control & Project Reporting
  • Perform daily QA/QC inspections of installed materials and workmanship.
  • Receive, inspect, document, and track all materials delivered to the project site.
  • Prepare and submit Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for shortages, damaged materials, quality concerns, or installation issues.
  • Complete daily field reports documenting project status, production, progress, and any non-conformance issues.
  • Track subcontractor performance, productivity, and billable hours to ensure efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
Project Administration
  • Assist the Accounting Department with job costing by submitting receipts and documentation for project-related purchases and expenses.
  • Lead daily and weekly field meetings to review project performance, safety requirements, installation strategies, and project updates.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation throughout the construction process.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of solar installation experience required.
  • 1–2 years of construction leadership or management experience required.
  • Strong understanding of utility-scale solar construction practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Computer proficiency and experience with construction reporting and documentation.
  • Desire for continuous learning and professional growth within the renewable energy industry.
Certifications & Requirements
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license required.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
